Place mats in opposite sides of the playing area. Choose one or two people to be It. If they tag you, you lie down on the floor and stick your arms and legs in the air. To be saved, four players must come and carry you, one to each limb, to the the ant hospital (the mats). Once there you come back to life. Players cannot be tagged while they are holding on to someone's arm or leg.
Safety is a key concern, so emphasize the importance of being gentle and avoiding injury to the head. You can have the children slide the dead ants across the floor rather than lift them in the air.

- On the signal, players can run, jump, dodge – trying to not get hit by sliding bean bags.
- Once a bean bag is picked up in hand, players can’t move. They must then slide the bean bag along floor attempting to hit the foot of another player.
- Whenever a player is hit in the foot, he must sit down where hit (and give up any bean bags in hand).
- Player is stuck down until a bean bag slides within reach and he can grab it.
